About Coach

I started my athletic journey at 5 years old with the sport of hockey. While I didn't quite make the cut to play D1, it taught me discipline, work ethic, and teamwork that I find invaluable in all aspects of my life. I applied this work ethic in my professional life, earning a Master's in Mechanical Engineering while working for General Electric in a number of lead engineering roles. Eventually, my passion for fitness won the internal tug-of-war, and the budding world of CrossFit pulled me onto a new path. When I started coaching CrossFit in 2012, I knew next to nothing about how to help people other than the fact that I loved doing it. When Karen and I opened CrossFit Aevitas in 2013, we channeled that love for helping people into a real business. Our goal was to help people get better while teaching them to love the process enough to want to do it for a very long time. More than a decade later, I've learned a lot but still strive to be a perpetual student in my approach to helping people become the best version of themselves.  Outside of the gym, I love working on the house, doing farm chores for our flock of chickens, and being the best new dad possible.

Turning Point

In 2011, my grandfather passed away from complications associated with adopting a sedentary lifestyle later in life. He was a dairy farmer all of his life and had farm strength like no other. His health deteriorated significantly after only about a decade of retirement. Seeing this decline firsthand made me realize the serious impact of inactivity and motivated me to take action, not just for myself, but for others who might be heading down a similar sedentary path.

Motivation & Passion

Hard work is uncomfortable. It doesn’t come naturally to most, but it can be developed. I lead by example, striving to inspire others to adopt a resilient, hard-working mindset. I can’t do the work for you, but I will do everything I can to teach you how to train smarter and work harder to achieve your goals. My goal is to help you unlock new potential and become a fitter, more capable version of yourself.
