At Aevitas, we believe that real, lasting health and fitness comes from what happens both inside and outside the gym. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our newest community challenge: welome to the Sugar Slayer Challenge, part of a new "Champion Your Health" series!

For five weeks, we’ll focus on one of the most impactful changes many people can make to their nutrition: reducing, and in some cases eliminating, added sugar.

This isn’t about perfection, extreme dieting, or cutting out every food you enjoy. It’s about learning, experimenting, and building healthy habits around your regular sugar consumption.

Whether your goal is to cut back on soda, reduce late-night sweets, or completely eliminate added sugars, the Sugar Slayer Challenge is designed to meet you where you are, and propel you forward on your health jouney!

Why Focus on Added Sugar?

Added sugar is everywhere, even hiding in foods we don’t expect. Many people consume far more than they realize, which can affect energy levels and sleep quality, recovery and performance, body composition, and overall health.

Our goal with this challenge is to first become aware of the added sugars in our regular diets, then learn strategies to reduce, swap, or eliminate those added sugar sources, and finally, practice sustainable habits to shift our sugar consumption in the long term.

Challenge Details

  • Start Date: Monday, April 6th
  • End Date: Sunday, May 10th

  • Goals: Reduce and/or eliminate added sugar in five weeks; gain knowledge to empower healthier decisions for life!

What the Challenge Entails

Participants in the Sugar Slayer Challenge will receive guidance, accountability, and support throughout the five-week program.

Initial & Final Assessments

  • Body weight
  • Progress photos
  • InBody body composition scan

The assessments you do are completely up to you! You can do one, all, or none of these based on your comfort level - but doing at least one will help us with choosing the challenge winners at the end (more on that in a minute!)

These assessments help track progress and provide useful data about how your body responds to dietary changes.  While we don't expect any drastic changes over a five-week period, learning to track these metrics over time is a useful tool to have in your arsenal, and you can keep tracking them as you continue on your sugar-reduction journey after the challenge ends!

Education on Added Sugar

Throughout the challenge, we’ll share resources that help you:

  • Identify hidden sugars in everyday foods
  • Understand how sugar affects metabolism and recovery
  • Learn practical ways to reduce intake without feeling deprived

Setting YOUR Intentions

This is probably our favorite part about the structure of this challenge! YOU get to decide how you want to handle the added sugar in YOUR diet.  Do you want to totally eliminate added sugar?  Excellent, we can help you with that! Do you want to find some swaps, or reduce your intake of certain foods?  Great, we got you! You will set your specific goals at the beggining of the challenge, and work with us over the five weeks to acheive your optimal outcome!

Reduction & Elimination Strategies

Once you set your specific intentions, you'll approach this challenge in a way that matches your goals. We'll provide you with the practical tools you need, such as:

  • Label-reading tips
  • Simple swaps for common sugary foods
  • Strategies to manage cravings
  • Ideas for balanced meals that keep you satisfied

Weekly Check-Ins

Participants will stay connected through weekly check-ins that help maintain accountability and momentum. These moments are a chance to reflect, share wins, and adjust strategies if needed.

Mini Challenges

Along the way, we’ll add a few bonus challenges designed to keep things fun and engaging — think things like hydration goals, meal snapshots, or sugar-free recipe experiments.

Community Support

One of the most powerful parts of any Aevitas challenge is the community.

You’ll be surrounded by fellow members who are working toward similar goals, sharing ideas, supporting each other, and celebrating progress together. Small changes become much easier when you’re not doing them alone.

Prizes!

Of course, a little friendly competition never hurt anyone, right?!

At the end of the challenge, prizes will be awarded based on participation and progress. While results matter, consistent effort, engagement, and commitment to the process will play a major role in determining our winners.
